Mara brings enthusiasm and positivity to every lesson she teaches and enjoys progressing students slowly and correctly, through the levels. With a background in both hunter/jumpers and dressage, she enjoys working with students to create the skills and understanding that are necessary for success both in and out of the show ring. She has had riders successfully compete at MHC, CHJA, and NEHC finals as well as at both IEA and IHSA Nationals.
As a trainer, Mara has developed horses for the hunter, jumper, and equitation ring and she has re-started thoroughbreds off of the track. In her training program Mara brings a dedication to understand each horse and a commitment to create a program that promotes the happiness, health, and high performance level in each horse.
Currently, Mara enjoys working with her students and horses at Amethyst Farm in addition to coaching the Amherst College equestrian team.
